25 Hour Laptop Battery Life For The MSI Wind U115 Netbook

Since the Netbook war Hp laptop battery began back in 2007 when the first ultraportable Netbook made its debut on the market, computer manufacturers have been falling over themselves trying to produce lighter, thinner, faster, trendier, greener and so on Netbooks and for a very good reason too.

Netbooks are popular, very popular; in fact they are the fastest growing segment of the PC market worldwide. We the consumer, now have a lot to choose from so it really comes down to what we want and what we are demanding from our Netbooks are longer battery hours.

This makes complete sense. Netbooks are for taking Hp F4098A battery, out and about with us so we don’t have ready access to a wall outlet and therefore need our Netbooks to function for as long as possible.

We keep hearing companies come out and say their product has a long battery life and things are definitely improving in that department but now one product has gone further than them all, way further, and that is the MSI Wind U115 Netbook with a whopping 25 hours of continuous use.

It has to be said though, Taiwanese company MSI Hp F4809A battery are not claiming that long a long battery life, they maintain we’ll get around 12 hours out of the new MSI Wind U115 Netbook with a 6 cell battery, which isn’t nearly as long as what Johannes from Eee-PC.de got out of it.

Using a 9 cell battery Johannes managed to get a whopping 25 hours and a bit more. The Battery Eater, a benchmarking tool for battery packs, clocked the MSI Wind in at a full 25 hours, 4 minutes and 16 seconds. Yes you did read that correctly.

If you fancy one, the MSI Wind is a hybrid Netbook Hp EX942AA battery

with solid state memory as well as a hard drive and you can use both at the same time. However, you can also deactivate the HDD using a keyboard shortcut which you need to do to get the 12 hour battery life.

The basic Wind U115 has a 10 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, runs Windows XP and comes with 1.6GHz CPU with a US15W Graphics chipset, 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, card reader, 1.3 megapixel camera and three USB slots.

Other options include a 9 cell battery, which you would need if you want to take advantage of the extra long battery hours. You can also choose from other Solid State Drives and Hard Drive combinations.

Ok so it’s not cheap at around £500 a piece Hp HSTNN-LB31 battery but if you’re happy to pay that then it should be available in the UK from May onwards.
